UFC 300: Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill – Main Event

UFC 300 has its highly-anticipated main event confirmed!

UFC CEO Dana White announced on social media following UFC 298 that Alex Pereira will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against former champion Jamahal Hill. The clash is set to headline the event on April 14 Stockton NSW time.

ESPN ranks Pereira at No. 7 on its pound-for-pound list, underlining the significance of this championship showdown. Pereira, a former UFC middleweight champion, made history by becoming the quickest fighter to claim two divisional titles in UFC history, achieving the feat in just seven fights.

The Brazilian powerhouse, aged 36, secured the 205-pound belt with a thrilling TKO victory over Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295 in November. Prior to that, Pereira stunned the world by knocking out Israel Adesanya to capture the middleweight title in November 2022, although he later relinquished it back to Adesanya in April.

On the other side of the octagon, Jamahal Hill, with a record of 12-1, 1 NC, returns after a hiatus due to a torn Achilles tendon. Despite never losing the light heavyweight title, Hill vacated the belt last summer due to the injury. The 32-year-old Chicago native boasts a four-fight winning streak, including a notable victory over Glover Teixeira to claim the title in January 2023.

This championship clash promises to be a thrilling showdown between two formidable competitors, marking a significant milestone in the history of UFC.
